Andy Jones

About me

Before becoming a Driving Instructor I worked in the motor industry as Vehicle Technician for almost 30 years. Most of this time was spent with Mercedes Benz both here and abroad and also as crew for the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) in the UK. One of the most enjoyable aspects of my roles was teaching the apprentices.

Whether it was teaching apprentices, teaching people to Scuba dive, or teaching Scouts how to make a campfire it is always a good feeling when they learn something new and it's something they are passionate about learning.

When my son passed his test 7 years ago I did most of his supervisory hours with him and I found it so rewarding, this made me rethink my future career and started me on the road to instructing professionally full time.

  • I am a full member of the Australian Driving Trainers Association (ADTA)
  • I have a Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport - Car Driving Instruction)
  • I am fully covered with both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • I have a current Working with children card
